

Born on January 10, 1923 in Waterbury, CT; she was the daughter of Pierre and Mary Hope Pronovost. She joined the U.S. Army Nurse Cadet Corp in 1944 and graduated in 1947 from the University Hospital in Chicago, IL with a degree in Nursing. Harriet married Irwin ‘Steve’ Stevens in 1948. They moved to El Dorado in 1950 and she began a career as a registered nurse at Warner Brown Hospital. Harriet was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph Pronovost and Paul Provonost; two sisters, Eloise Sevigny and Loraine Roberson; her loyal Peek-A-Poo ‘ Buddy’; and her husband of 60 years Irwin ‘Steve’ Stevens.
Survivors are a son Mark I. Stevens and wife Dixie of Hot Springs, AR; a daughter Mary Clapp and husband Desmond of El Dorado, AR; two sisters Marcelle Crean of Middlebury, CT and Joan Pronovost of Southbury, CT; three grandsons Chris Leach and wife Alex, Eric Clapp, and David Stevens; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Directors Sunday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Edward D’Almeeida officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Desmond Clapp, Chris Leach, Eric Clapp, Bobby Tucker, Joe Hickey, Wayne Husbands, John Ralston, and David Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Pyron and Brent Stevens.
