

Jack D. Cameron, 88 of El Dorado, AR, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Medical Center of South Arkansas following a sudden illness. Born on February 26, 1926 in Wesson, AR; he was the son of Owen F. and Mattie Mae Burley Cameron.
Jack was a member and greeter at Wyatt Baptist Church and a 32 Degree Mason. A veteran of World War II, Jack served in Army Corp of Engineers and was awarded the World War Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Germany.He was also a member of the Master Builders. He retired from Monsanto Chemical Company as a supervisor and continued working for El Dorado Chemical Company as a consultant. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Maxine Hines; a brother Donald R. Cameron.
Survivor are his wife of 65 years Joycelyn Matlock Cameron of El Dorado; a son Gary W Cameron(Denise) of Parkers Chapel; daughter, Judy Welch (Danny) of Keithville, LA; brothers Gerald W. Cameron of Forney, TX; sisters Hilda Holder of El Dorado and Patricia Northcutt of Levelland, TX; along with grandchildren Amanda Rich (Chris), Jeff Cameron, Cameron Vick (Carrie), Sharon Guthrie (William), Wendy Mathews (Danny), Daniel Welch (Jessica) and Caleb Welch (Megan);and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 Saturday at Young's Funeral Directors
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Wyatt Baptist Church with Rev Donny Hymer and Rev. Josh Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery near Junction City, AR.
