

Born March 27, 1932 in Junction City, AR, he was the son of James W. and Lena Mae Roberson Cook. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Gerald Cook.
Mr. Cook was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Parkers Chapel High School, Southern State College and Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU. He proudly served 31 years in the United States Army and Army Reserves, where he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He worked for 42 years at the National Bank of Commerce, where he served in many positions including President, CEO and Chairman of the Board. He was very active in the community. He was a Past President of the El Dorado Jaycees, member of the El Dorado Rotary Club and officer in the Civitan Club. Over the years he served on the boards of The United Way, Hudson Nursing Home, Warner Brown Hospital, Medical Center of South Arkansas, SARTI, Share Foundation, Union County Industrial Board, South Arkansas Development Council, El Dorado Industrial Development Commission and was a past president and “Man of the Year” for the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved traveling the country in his motorhome.
Survivors include his wife Patsy Cook, two sons, Mark Cook (Tammy) and Keith Cook (Lynnette) all of El Dorado and a daughter, Donna Drevdahl (John) of Loveland, CO. Surviving grandchildren are Andrew Cook, Matthew Cook, Jonathan Swarek, Eric Lee and Alex Lee and great-grandchildren, Spencer Lee and Grace Swarek and an expected great-grandson in August.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young's. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ruehr officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
