

James Edward Taylor, Jr., 66, of El Dorado, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born on August 11, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, the son of Lily Mae Taylor and James Edward Taylor, Sr…
On June 6, 1970, Jim married Kittye Lee McLain in Athens, Alabama. They lived in Alameda, California, where Jim served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. After his release, Jim and Kittye moved to El Dorado, Arkansas. Jim worked with his family at Arkansas General Ice Company while attending South Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting. On August 21, 1975, their daughter, Kathryn Pepper Taylor, was born.
Jim worked for Pumps & Power, El Dorado Foundry Machine & Supply Company and, most recently, Construction Equipment Services. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Taylor, and his father, James Edward Taylor, Sr.
Jim is survived by his mother, Lily Mae Taylor, of Mobile, Alabama, his sister, Barbara Emanuel of Mobile, Alabama, his wife, Kittye Lee Taylor of El Dorado, Arkansas, his daughter, Katie Taylor Harwell, and her husband, Robert Scott Harwell, both of El Dorado, Arkansas, two grandchildren, James Gray Harwell and Millye Magdalyn Harwell, and two nieces, Chris Faught of Stuttgart, Germany, and Michelle Lawrence of Mobile, Alabama.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with a reception to follow in the Cloisture. A private family inurnment will be held at a later time. Cremation services were provided by Young’s Funeral Directors.
