Jo Ann Bottoms

She was born on December 4, 1934 in El Dorado, Arkansas, to the late Carl Sherman Andrews and Floy Elizabeth Richardson. Jo Ann was named Most Beautiful by her classmates her senior year in high school. The late Jimmy Wayne Bottoms became her husband on June 4, 1955. They were together for 48 years before he passed away on August 5th, 2002.

Jo Ann will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son, Michael Wayne Bottoms and his wife Cami of Frisco, Texas, their children Madison and Mikaela, one daughter, Leslee Garrard and her daughter Mallorie and husband Justin and one precious great granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Gary of Lafayette, her nephew, Dr. James R. Miears, Jr. and his wife Debby and their daughters Amanda and Heather of Bellingham, Washington, one niece, Melinda Elizabeth Taylor and her son Zachary Miears Taylor of Bentonville and Fayetteville, AR, her sister, Jean Andrews Miears and her husband Jim of El Dorado.

Jimmy and Jo Ann made their home in El Dorado for all their life together. He was a self-employed forester. Jo Ann was a homemaker who loved to cook and take care of her family. She was an active member of the Second Baptist Church for 60 years. She served as an adult Sunday school teacher for many of those years. Jo Ann also sang in the church choir. Her life was one of service. She cared for her aging grandparents, her husband who was ill for 11 years and finally her mother for the last 7 years of her life. After her mother's death, Jo Ann moved to Park Meadows, a lovely senior apartment complex in Round Rock, Texas to be near her daughter and her son. She enjoyed her long awaited retirement.

Visitation will be held at Young's Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018.

A celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held at Young's Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Trostle officiating. A private burial service will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial donations be made in Jo Ann's name to Christopher's House Hospice, 2820 E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Austin, Texas 78702. Jo Ann's family would like to thank the staff of Christopher's House Hospice for the loving care she received.
