

Born December 1, 1937 in Montrose, AR, he was the son Louis Howard and Ruth Evelyn Nelson Howard Anderson. Johnny attended El Dorado High School and served four years in the United States Marine Corp, and retired from Lion Oil refinery after 41 years of service. He was an active member at Westside Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Proceeding him in death, along with his parents is his sister, Mary Jo Taylor.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jackie Howard and their two children; Jody (Jay) Vines of El Dorado and Pete (Sherry) Howard of Longview, TX. Surviving grandchildren are Scoot (Sarah) Vines, Ali (Bill) Hickman, Courtney (Brandon) Bilo, Colton Miller, Brandon (Maddie) Miller and Weston McManus. His great- grandchildren are Skylar Vines, Harper Vines, Will Hickman, Luke Hickman and Austin Hickman.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5 pm to 6 pm at Youngs Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Snell officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Scoot Vines, Bill Hickman, Weston McManus, Brandon Bilo, Colton Miller, Will Hickman, Richard Anders and Brandon Miller.
Honorary pallbearers are Danny Wagnon, Al Harper, Charles Burns, Kenny Harper, Emery Ham, Daniel Simpson, Bill Spencer, Charles Daniels, Ralph Langston, Dave Miller, Mackey Smith, Cliff Hale, Rick Hammond, Russell Walthall, Welby Ward and Ira Benton.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado, 1201 North West Ave, El Dorado, AR 71730 or to charity of donor's choice
