Mary Helene McAllister

Born December 8, 1920 in Bernice, Louisiana she was the daughter of Lewis Watson and Vera Green Thompson who preceded her in death. Mrs. McAllister was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Norphlet.

Survivors include sons, H. L. McAllister of El Dorado and J. E. McAllister and his wife Sandra of Gonzales, LA and an adopted son, J. W. Rice of El Dorado. Also surviving are two sisters, Nina Brown of Magnolia, AR and Jimmie Faye Ottinger of Lake Jackson, TX and two grandsons, Brad McAllister of Fairfax, VA and Jason McAllister and his wife Amanda of Baton Rouge, LA and a granddaughter, Tammy Gros and her husband Oudrey of Addis, LA. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Norphlet with Rev. Gerald Perry and Rev. Doug Wills officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Leopard, Buryl Leopard, Bobby Love, Jason McAllister, Mike Arnold, and Marion Clawson.

The family will receive friends at Young’s on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
