Maxine graduated from Strong High School as salutatorian of her class. She then attended Ms. Green's Business School and went to work at the Exchange Bank and Trust Company, before her career at Arkansas Power and Light Company, now Entergy, where she worked in the Southwest Division Engineering Department. Maxine was a member of El Dorado First Assembly of God Church, where she taught the primary boys class for a number of years.
Maxine married Robert M. "Bobby" Goza in 1954, and they enjoyed over forty years together. After Bobby's death in 1995, she lived alone until she met Leslie George. She and Leslie had two happy years together before his death.
Those preceding her in death, along with her parents, Lavelle and Elsie Marie Fincher Reynolds, were her sisters, infant Dorothy Belle Reynolds and Dewanda Reynolds Lauderdale.
Survivors are one sister, Ann Reynolds Summerhill, who was her constant friend and caregiver for many years; and one step-daughter, Linda Margis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at El Dorado First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Alan Womack, Rev. Chris Cleveland, and Rev. Greg Tucker officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
