Perry Jean Gathright

Perry Jean Gathright, age 93, of Huttig, Arkansas passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who adored spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gathright was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on August 7, 1928. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught in the Huttig Public Schools for 36 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Huttig where she served as church pianist and Sunday School teacher.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Perry Goodwin and Moland George Goodwin; brother, Arthur George Goodwin; and sisters, Caroline Sobczak and Rosemary Ellen.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Paul D. Gathright; daughters, Kathy Nelson (Billy) and Cynthia Gathright; grandchildren, Nate Nelson (Anna) and Sam Nelson (Sarah); great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Noah, Spencer, Harper, Isla and Paul Davis Nelson; and brother, Moland George "Buddy" Goodwin.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Young's Funeral Directors.

A private graveside service will be held under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
