

She was born February 21, 1946 in Magnolia, Arkansas, the daughter of the late William L. Thompson and Eva M. Thompson. Sandy was a career hair stylist who loved her family, her friends, her church, and her annual fishing trips to south Louisiana. She always had a smile on her face and a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She was a true blessing to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brad Smith; a daughter, Tracy Blanton; and her life-long special companion, Gene Smith.
Survivors include her adopted daughter/great granddaughter, Alexis Dunn, of Smackover; her step daughter, Debbie Saulsbury of El Dorado; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Zimmerman of Baton Rouge, LA; her grandchildren, Leigh Sinclair, Amber and Lamar Dews, and Chase and Ryan Deason; her great grandchildren, Dawson and Dillon Dews, Faith and Hope Dunn; her niece, Becky Zimmerman of Baton Rouge, LA; and her nephew, David Zimmerman (wife, Karen and children, Justin and Tyler) of Brooksville, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at West Side Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. on the date of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730 in her name.
