Stephen H. Ellis

Stephen Harris Ellis, 67 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born August 7, 1949, to William Bruce and Nancy Ann Harris Ellis in Camden, AR.

He worked at the Medical Center of South Arkansas as a Microbiologist, and was of the Methodist faith.

Steve will be missed greatly by all. He was a dedicated teacher, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Nancy Ellis and father, Dr. Bruce Ellis, Sr. of Stephens, AR.

His loving wife of sixteen years, Patricia Sue Hefner Ellis; his children and grandchildren include Jennifer and (Reecy) Smith and Stephen, Wyatt, and Lilli; Lindsay and (Trey) McNair and Brenden and Sean, Lucien Loyd and Delaney Loyd; Trenton and Tyler Webb; Trish and (John Kevin) Tolin and Jewel and Jet.

His survivors include his brothers and sisters, Dr. Bruce Ellis of Butte, MT, Jan and (Missy) Ellis of Little Rock, Nancy Carol and (Dexter) Beene of El Dorado, Paul and (Carolyn) Ellis of Magnolia, and Marianne and (Dennis) Hixon of Malvern.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Smackover with Rev. Carly Davis officiating. Cremation services were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
