

Born February 22, 1925 in Sheridan, AR he was the son of David Jewel Myers and Bertha Lee of Sheridan AR. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Having served his country in the South Pacific Arena fighting in both Okinawa and Saipan during WW II he is the last surviving member of the 127th Infantry Division as know. After serving in WWII he became a tank commander in TANK CO 199 REGT 39th INFANTRY DIVISION out of Fort Polk Louisiana and has served our Country with honor for 26 years.
He was the guest of the Governor at the Capital of Texas Veteran Days Parade and also honored at the 2016 Arms Forces Bowl game at TCU Stadium Forth Worth, TX.
He was a great father and teacher in which he led by example.
Preceding him in death were his parents and wife and soul mate of 65 years Billie Juanita Tarver (Pigeon).
Married December 23, 1950, he leaves behind his children two sons William David Myers (Lawanda) of Lincoln, AR, Douglas A. Myers of Bountiful, UT (Vickie Lea), and one daughter Pamela Kay Moore (Gates Sickel) of Austin TX. Also surviving are his cousins Diane Coston, Buddy Thomas, Norman and Margret Ann Lee. William is also survived by three grandchildren, David Jewel Myers of Sheridan, AR Tina Green of Plainview, AR and Joy Leah Juanita Myers of Bountiful, UT, one great grandchild, Sydney Myers.
Viewing starts at 9:00-11:00 and Funeral services will be held starting at 11:00 am Friday, March 30, 2018 at Young’s Chapel in El Dorado with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00-1:00 in Smyma Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
