Winnie Marion

Born on April 12, 1919 in the Hopewell Community she was the daughter of Milton T. and Lizzie Powledge Owens. A homemaker, Winnie was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chester A. ‘Gump’ Marion, a son and daughter –in-law, W.F. Marion and Maxine Marion Golden, brothers Fred M. Owens, Eric W. Owens, James A. Owens, John L. Owens and Aubrey Owens.

Survivors are a son, Don Marion (Jo Ella) of Houston, TX, a brother Harvey Owens (Dorothy) of El Dorado, AR, sisters-in-law, Claudine Owens and Carole Owens of El Dorado. Also surviving are grandchildren, Gail Oakley, Janet Hunt, Cheryl LeMaire, Donnie Marion, and Robert Marion, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Overton and Rev. Tommy Mellinger officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Parkview Baptist Church.
