Adalberto “Popo” Tellez, 88, was called home by our loving Father on October 29, 2015. He passed away peacefully in his home, with all of his family surrounding him, after a day of prayer and acceptance. He was a loving husband, strong father, and inspirational grandfather. He was loved and respected by many that looked up to him hoping to follow in his ways. Popo was born in El Paso, Texas on April 23, 1927. He attended Bowie High School and was a very proud Bear all through his life. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country as a World War II veteran. Upon his return, he met the love of his life, Josie “Nanny”, whom he married in 1950. Their love was truly a storybook love. By trade, he worked hard as a plasterer and soon began his own business. His hard work ethic is the value he most instilled in his family, and they loved and supported him always. He enjoyed fishing, a game of cards, his Mexican food…and his sweets! His legacy was truly his family, and he was always so proud of each of them. Popo leaves behind his beloved wife, Josefina Tellez and his three sons Albert Jr. (Rita), Oscar (Emily), and Joe (Chari); his grandchildren, who adored him as a father as well, Jennifer and Jackie (Kevin), Yvonne (Marcello), Christy (Marc), Denise (Jon), Rey (Liz), Mitchie (Saul), Eddie (Nina), Joey, Alex (Yesenia) and Vicky; his great-grandchildren, Tommy Jr., Johnny, Jordan, Jaden & Joslyn, Olivia & Chloe, Ashley, Nathan, Bryan, Brandon, Eli, Sebastian, Steven, Heaven, Hazel, and Aubrey. He is preceded in death by his only daughter, Rosella; his brothers Joe and Art, his sisters Lily and Theresa, and his parents Jose and Aurora.
