Adela Rivera

Adela Garcia Rivera, age 90, left us on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 with her family by her side.Adela was born February 4, 1925 in El Paso, TX. Her father was Tiburcio Garcia and mother Adela Granados Garcia. She resided in El Paso for most of her life but later moved to San Antonio to be with family. Adela had four children whom she raised on her own at the widowed age of 38. Her faith gave her the strength to raise her children and has been the center of her life. She was the last generation of the Tiburcio and Adelaida Garcia Family. Adela graduated a Bowie Bear in 1944. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved to dance and an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. Adela is preceded in death by her husband "love of her life", Antonio (Tony) Rivera and daughter, M. Antonette (Toni) Rivera. Survived by her children, Adele M. Vasquez (Roberto), Manuel A.(Manny) Rivera (Lynnette), Angelica M. Morales (Jesus) and 7 grandchildren (Melinda, Amanda, Adrianna, Gabriel, Marcella, Fabian, Ariana) and 2 great grandchildren (Joey and Nick). Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm with the Rosary at 7pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 9:15am. at Cristo Rey Church Interment to follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery. Services are under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 N. Carolina 598-3332.
