It is with heavy broken hearts that the family of Alfonso Martinez announces his passing on December 20, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Aurora Martinez, his son Alfonso D Martinez (Monica), daughters Elizabeth Farina (Jesse), Diana Reyes (Jose) and his stepdaughter Patsy Garcia (Curly). He will also be dearly missed by his 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many loving family and friends. Alfonso was born in El Paso, Texas on December 30, 1937 and was a great man that always put his family first. He was a lifelong member of the Teamsters, loved outdoors, and traveling in his RV. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friends, loved ones and make time for each other. Time waits for no one. A special thanks to his doctors Dr. Rocha, Dr. Lopez, the nurses and the Texas Oncology Center. Visitation will be Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 5pm-9pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive, with a Vigil at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 24 at 9am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Avenue.
