

Alice was the eldest of five children, born on August 17, 1929 in Alamo Alto, Texas (El Paso County) to Salomon and Petra Acosta. While in El Paso she worked at the Gunning Casteel Drug Store in Ysleta for 18 years. After growing up in El Paso, Alice moved to California where she worked in retail for 40 years specializing in cameras and fine jewelry. After retiring she returned to El Paso where she lived until her passing on Monday, May 23. Alice had a gentle heart, very generous, had a loving spirit and was caring, had a sense of humor, as well as her warmth, strong faith and love for God. She was a loving sister to her siblings and is survived by her brother Robert Acosta, sister in law Vicki Acosta, Lydia Acosta Almeida and many nieces and nephews. We will miss her dearly and she lives on in the hearts of all she touched. Visitation/Rosary will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 Carolina, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Our Lady of the Valley at 1:30 pm. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
