Alicia Guadalupe Provencio

Alicia Guadalupe Provencio, at the age of 94, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, May 19, 2012. She was born on March 6, 1918, in El Paso, Texas where she lived all her life. She was a parishioner of Saint Patrick Cathedral. She was “Lupe” to the loving, life long friends she grew up with in Sunset Heights, “Lupy” or “Tati” to her nieces and nephews. She was born during WWI and was employed at the office of postal censorship during WWII. She retired after 35 years as an executive secretary, in the surgical department at William Beaumont ARMY Medical Center. After retirement she spent time with her friends and family. She was a faithful servant of our Lord and had great devotion to our beautiful blessed Virgin Mary. She was an avid reader; she enjoyed walking and loved working crossword puzzles, watching jeopardy and wheel of fortune. Lupe joins her beloved parents Manuel Provencio and Paulina Rey Provencio, her brothers and sisters, Manuel, Oscar, Alfredo, Raul, Josefina, Paulina and several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her brother Juan J. Provencio and his wife, Mary Lou, the twins Maria Gracia Ramirez and Joe H. Provencio and his wife, Bobbie. Also left to cherish her loving memory are many other nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary

at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on

Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Cathedral with Fr. Rick Matty officiating. Pallbearers will be Joseph Louis Ramirez, John Provencio, John Middagh, Alfredo Royo, Bobby Grijalva, Victor Provencio, Rick Provencio and Carlos Ramirez Jr. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. We would like to extend special thanks and prayers to the team of Nazareth Hall skilled Nursing Facility for all their loving care this last year of “Ms. Provencio’s” Life.
