Arthur J. Hammel Jr.

Arthur John Hammel, Jr., 67, a long time El Pasoan passed away on Tuesday, January 18th, 2011. He was preceded in death by his mother Rosemary Hammel. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 45 years: Sons, Dean Arthur Hammel and fiancé Holly Leman, Christopher John Hammel and daughter-in-law, Julie Hammel: Grandson, Benjamin Scott Hammel: Father, Arthur J. Hammel, Sr.: Brother, Terry Hammel: Sisters, Gayle (Richard) Sandenaw, Debbie (Tom) Sandenaw, Janet Alvarado and Linda Rangel. Art worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company for 26 years and retired April 1, 1996. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1961 and then earned a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Texas Western University (now UTEP) in 1967. Art will be remembered for his humor, generosity and his great capacity to love. A Rosary Service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home West.
