Arturo (Tata) S. Garcia passed away on April 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 16, 1944 in Smeltertown, TX., and preceded in death by his mother Sara Garcia, father David Garcia, son Joseph Bliven, and his brothers Manuel, David and Ruben. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Annette, sons Edward and Robert Bliven, Michael and David Rivera (Hilda), 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, his brother Rodolfo (Tillie) sisters Olivina Garcia, Gloria Hernandez (Joe), and many beloved nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked as a bailiff at the El Paso County Courthouse until his retirement. His passion was Mt. Cristo Rey Restoration Committee, proudly serving as president during the last year. He was generous and caring, and was as a brother to many good friends. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 pm Monday, April 7, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:15 am Tuesday, April 7, 2014 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Rite of committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
