Barbara (Ma) Coronado, 98, died peacefully in her sleep on August 3, 2014. She moved to El Paso from Chicago in 1967 and worked at The Popular in the collections department until the store closed.
Ma survived two husbands--William E. Dominik, to whom she was married from 1935 to 1971 and Ricardo Coronado for 10 years-leaving her with two families.
Barb was a fun-loving person and enjoyed bowling, swimming, travel and gambling. She participated in the Senior Olympics, was a Red Hat member, and a devout Cubs fan. She especially loved being a member of the Sun Up Optimist Club of Canutillo.
Her up-for-anything spirit and quick wit reaped many friends who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her son, William J. Dominik and wife Dori; son-in-law, Don Bruce; grandchildren James and Michael Dominik, Don, Bobby, and Danny Bruce and wife Mickie; twelve great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are sisters Elsie and Matilda, brother John Berger, and daughter, Josephine Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Sun Up Optimist Club of Canutillo would be appreciated and can be sent to Bill Dominik, 831 Anthony Rd. Canutillo, Texas 79835.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home West, 5054 Doniphan Drive El Paso, Texas 79932, to celebrate her life.
