

Bertha Maynes, 85, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2014 surrounded by her four loving children. Born on May 13, 1929 in El Paso, she graduated from Bowie High School in 1948. She had a passion for music and enjoyed dancing to The Big Bands of the 1940’s. She was a loyal fan of her beloved Dallas Cowboys, a member of La Union Catolica de San Jose, and a proud member of the Harvey Girls.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Maynes Sr. Survived by children; Ruben Maynes Jr. (Rose), Christina Procell (Joe), Julie Quiroz (Bob) and Mark Maynes (Jenifer) and her beloved sister, Lilia Medina. She was very fond of her grandchildren; Michael & Steven Procell, Jessica, Stephanie, Valerie, Danielle, and Ruben C. Maynes. Great grandchildren include Joshua, Matthew, Sebastian and Shelly.
We thank God for blessing us with such an awesome Mother and Grandmother. She was always there for her family and friends. Her love, advice, sense of humor, and smile were treasured by all. We thank her for all the fun times over the years and the endless laughter during our Scrabble games. We will always treasure the memories she created for us and she will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 9, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Harding Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
