

Betty J. Wren was born on August 21, 1934 to her mother Mary Ella McGowan in Meridian, Mississippi. On Monday April 27, 2015 she was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 80. She moved to El Paso, TX from Mississippi in 1955 and later met her husband Love Wren. They were united in marriage on April 28, 1960 and they shared their life together in Central El Paso until her death. She was formally employed by Textogs Clothing Factory for over 18 years and later became co-owner of Busy Bee Janitorial Service alongside her husband. She joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the late 1950's and served diligently in the Ushers Ministry and was the Asst. Secretary for Sunday School Class #2. She was also a member of the Deacons and Ministers Wives. Betty was one of the sweetest people you'd ever meet. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends. She loved the Lord, her husband, her family and always had a kind word for anyone she came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Jenny Bender and mother Mary Ella McGowan. Left to cherish her precious memory is her husband of 56 years, Love Wren; her daughters Betty L. Golden, Mary D. House, and Dorothy Jackson; grandchildren Terry Golden, Isaac Golden, Yaisa D. Hallback (Eric Sr.), Seymour House, Rita House, Tawnee House, and Keith Jackson; great grandchildren, cousins, family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday May 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow Funeral Service at Restlawn Memorial Park.
