

James Robert “Bob” Arterbury, 65, of El Paso, Texas, was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Bob was born on September 10, 1955 to Arlis and Clara Harris Arterbury. He graduated from Hope High School in Hope, Arkansas, and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Those who knew Bob, know that he was a life - long Razorback fan! Bob devoted his life to teaching music, primarily band, for 34 years before retiring. He was a much – loved band director to so many students! Bob was a member of the Eastwood Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and song leader for many years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and precious niece, Ashley Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lisa Clark Arterbury and son, James William Arterbury, both of El Paso; brother and sister – in – law, Wayne and Carrie Arterbury, of Hope, Arkansas; twin brother, Bill Arterbury, of Farmington, Arkansas; parents – in – law, Bill and Betty Clark, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister – in – law and brother – in – law, Robin and Paul Madrid, of Mora, New Mexico; nephews, Mark Arterbury (Katie),of Conway, Arkansas, David Arterbury (Cydni), of Benton, Arkansas, Brandon Arterbury and Seth Arterbury, both of Farmington, Arkansas; great nieces and nephews, Caitlin Arterbury and Mitchell Arterbury, both of Farmington, Arkansas, Jake Arterbury and Molly Arterbury, both of Conway, Arkansas, Gracynn Stafford of Benton Arkansas, Gabriel Martinez and Julianne Martinez, both of Las Cruces, New Mexico; an aunt, Jean Harris, of Hope, Arkansas; and numerous cousins, in – laws and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held on a later date at the Eastwood Church of Christ, 10104 Album, El Paso, Texas, 79925. Bob is under the care of Martin Funeral Home East in El Paso. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
