Carlos C. Ortega, 81, was called home on October 29th, 2015. He is survived by his wife Maria Angelica Ortega. His sons Jorge, Tommy(Delilah), Oscar(Luz), Ruben(Lidia), Rene(Lollis), (Preceded in death) Ricardo and Carlos Jr. Daughters Irma, Leticia, Lucia(Ricardo) and Irma, Stepchildren Chris Ramirez(Michelle) and Sandra Salazar, Brothers Ramon, Simon and Manny Ortega. Sisters Jenny, Esperanza, Estela and Mela, 18 Grandchildren and 23 Great grandchildren.
Carlos was born in Fabens, TX on January 8th, 1934. He spent his childhood tending to his family’s ranch. At 16 he began driving a motor grader (the blade) until October 19th, 2015. After a long fought battle with cancer, he succumbed to the effects. He will be remembered for his love of life, unique sense of humor, and love for his wife, Angelica, whom will always have him in her heart.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 5-9pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm at F.D.A. Martin East. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Evergreen East Cemetery.
