

On October 8, 2017, the Lord commanded Carlton Ray Bell to walk hand-in-hand again with Grace Bell, his beloved wife of sixty years. Mr. Bell was an adored husband, father, and Papaw. He was born May 30, 1933 in Jourdanton, Texas to Cecil and Jennie Bell. He served valiantly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Mr. Bell was a founding officer and director of Valley Bank and Montwood National Bank. He worked alongside his devoted wife as they founded Bell’s Glass, Incorporated, in 1968, from which they retired in 1998. Throughout his life, Mr. Bell proudly served as a free mason and was an avid pilot, fisherman, traveler, and classic car restorer. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Aden and his children Debbie (Bill) Wurm, Steven Bell, and Pamela (Mike) Downey. He leaves behind seven grandchildren to cherish a lifetime of his stories, Shanna (Marco) Salazar, Brandon Wurm, Jesse (Melodi) Bell, Deseree Bell, Ashley (Miguel) Marquez, Blake (Stacie) Downey, and Patrick Wurm. He leaves a legacy of ten great-grandchildren to revel in and honor his memory, Alexis and Micah Montelongo; Jaxson and Adelynn Wurm; Cayden and William Marquez; Daiken, Sara, and Autumn Bell; and Baby Downey expected in April 2018. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:30am at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to F.D.A.
