I will miss and never forget Charlie.  A chance meeting while fishing uncovered a long tie between our families.  Charlie loved his family, and always shared his excitement with plans to see them, near and afar.  When we'd see each other, we never cut each other a break, much to the wit and humor it brought us and everyone around us.  Often doubled over laughing so hard.  But my own health issues stopped me from seeing him the past 3 years. But we spoke often and always cheered each other up.  And  his famous "gotta go. I'm getting a bite".   
I hope his family knows how much he was loved by his fishing buddies.  And how he loved to share his catch w family, church and friends.  Ascarate Lake will never be the same.  Charle chose his friends carefully and i am honored by his friendship.  He was to have served his country.  He was a kind, caring and loyal friend.  Bob
