Cherry Donnette Phillips

Donnette Phillips was born on April 29,1944 and passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Rodney A. Phillips Sr. and beautiful daughter Lisa Michelle Phillips. She is survived by her son Rodney Phillips Jr., daughter-in-law Jana Simpson-Phillips and granddaughter Danielle Phillips.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Austin,Texas where she met Rodney Phillips. They were married on May 24,1963. Rodney then enlisted in the Navy which took them to Long Beach, California. They later raised their two children in Austin and Big Spring, Texas. Eventually, Rodney and Donnette moved to El Paso in 1998 to be closer to Rodney Jr., Jana, and Danielle.

Some of Donnette!s happiest times were spent at her church, Westside Church of Christ, where she was a devoted member, church secretary, and loved her “Ladies Bible Class.” Donnette loved going on hunting and fishing trips with the family. She was a very supportive mother and grandmother, never missing a recital, sporting event, or band concert. Donnette could always be counted on to bring her staple broccoli rice casserole, banana pudding, or heavenly hash to holiday gatherings. She was a wonderful gift giver and loving Granny. We are very grateful to all her church friends who visited her regularly throughout the last year. She was a devout Christian and most certainly will enjoy eternal life in Heaven with her husband and daughter. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
