

Consuelo G. Silva passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 80, where she resided in her hometown of El Paso, Texas. Consuelo “Chelo” was born in El Paso, Texas, on August 25, 1944, to parents Consuelo and Alberto Gamboa. Chelo attended Thomas Jefferson High School and was a devout Catholic. Chelo and Nicolas Silva were joined together in love and marriage on September 30, 1967, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, they were happily married for 57 years and raised 3 sons, Fernando, Nicolas and Albert. In the Catholic Faith, motherhood is a sacred vocation, and our mother has truly lived out this calling with grace, strength, a constant source of love, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Such as the Blessed Virgin Mary, she embodies compassion, humility, and quiet courage that inspires everyone around her. Chelo’s contagious zest for life and her giving nature was inspirational to those around her. Her life has been a beautiful testimony of her faith. Chelo’s role in life was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Chelo is survived by her spouse Nicolas Alejandro Silva, sons, Fernando Silva (wife Isela), Nicolas Alej- andro Jr. Silva (wife Raquel), and Albert Silva (wife Nancy). Grandchildren, Alexander, Daniel, Sarah Anne, Iliana Ava, Nicolas Alejandro III, Anthony Alejandro, Leah, Marlo and great granddaughter Ximena. Chelo’s brothers, Frank Gamboa and Albert Gamboa Jr. Chelo preceded in death by parents Consuelo and Alberto Gamboa, her brother Ramon Gamboa, sisters Luisa Alvarado and Estella Gamboa.

• Visitation: June 3, 2025, at Martin Funeral Home (East), El Paso, Texas. (5:00 pm till 9:00 pm) •Rosary/Prayer Service: June 3, 2025. (7:00 pm till 8:00 pm ) • Funeral Mass: June 4, 2025, at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. (9:30 am)
Chelo will be cremated and her final resting place will be at Ft Bliss National Cemetery.
Active pallbearers, Fernando Silva, Nicolas Silva Jr., Albert Silva, Alexander Silva, Nicolas Alejandro Silva III and Hector Silva. Honorary pallbearers, Daniel Silva and Anthony Alejandro Silva.
