Mom Delia was very special to me.  She became my Mom 43 years ago when I married her beautiful daughter, Yoli, and I have loved her ever since.  She was the best Mother-in-Law a person could ever hope for, and she was a good friend to me as well.  She was always sticking up for me and sided with me always.  I will never forgot this fine Lady.  She was selfless, caring, and put others ahead of herself in every way.  When I asked how she was doing, she would always reply that she felt "Shot At, But Missed," and you know the rest.  She always had some good jokes to tell, some in English and some in Spanish, but we always had a good laugh together, even though I may have not figured out the punchline.  I will always love and miss Mom Delia, and I know she is in Heaven waiting for us to see her again.  Thank you, God, for letting us enjoy this wonderful person for all of these years. You are home now Delia joined with our Father and your loved ones.  Please give my mom, your best friend Toni, a big and hug and kiss from us and know your friendship meant the world to her and us. I am Arturo de la Torre, "kid brother" of the de la Torre family. As the youngest kid, I have my own memories of being babied and loved. When I was in first grade heading off for school, Delia gave me a nickle. I got to the door, went back, and said, "How about making it a dime??" She gave it to me!  I was on a roll! I went back again several times until I got to a dollar!
That's when she laughed and laughed and sent me off with seventy five cents.
     When I reached football age, I came home one night with a black eye. She opened the door and stared at me and agreed to say whatever I wanted to keep Mom and Dad calm.  
    She is with our Lord now.   With these fond memories I will carry my grief in my heart.  Goodbye big sis.

                                                                                                                                    I am Naomi Mery and I live in Colorado Springs, CO.  My father is Arturo de la Torre, Delia Vasquez's younger brother.I have fond memories when my sister and I were very young and would spend time with Aunt Delia.  She would make us the best food ever!  She would also tell us stories, sing songs, and make us laugh. Be at peace, Aunt Delia, you are with Jesus, now.  I pray for peace for the family.

I am the "kid brother" of the de la Torre family.  Like most "youngest of kids",  I have my own memories of being loved and babied.  My older sister, Delia, did her share of babying me. I loved it.  She told my own kids her favorite story.
In first grade, as I headed for school, she gave me a nickel.  I got to the door and went to her and said, what about a dime instead?  She did it!  I was on a roll.  I kept going back until I got to a dollar.  That's when she laughed and laughed and sent me off with 75 cents.  
When I got to football age I came home late with a black eye.  She opened the door stared at me and promised she would say whatever I wanted so as to calm Mom and Dad down.
With those memories I will carry my grief in my heart.  
She is with Our Lord now.  She has His judgement.  She does not need mine. She knows all truths now.
