Dorothy Candelaria

Dorothy Candelaria, a beloved soul, peacefully passed away on December 29, 2025. Born in 1929 to Blas and Juanita Rel in Las Cruces, NM, she embarked on a journey of love and life. She married Carlos Candelaria, and their union blossomed into a happily married life spanning over 50 years.

Throughout her life, Dorothy dedicated herself to her family. As a devoted housewife, she raised three wonderful children while simultaneously supporting the growth of the family concrete business. Her unwavering commitment to her family was truly remarkable.

After retiring, Dorothy‘s greatest joy came to life. She and her husband embarked on a thrilling adventure, traveling throughout the United States in their RV. They explored new places, embraced the unknown, and created unforgettable memories together. Their years of travel were filled with excitement and discovery.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Velia Martinez, her son-in-law, Robert Martinez, and her son Arturo Candelaria. She is also blessed with grandchildren, Eugene (Tami), Steve (Lauren), and Samuel (Leigh) Martinez. As well as Vince Candelaria and Jesse Candelaria. Her great grandchildren include Maya, Alyssa, Kaden, and Noah Martinez.

Dorothy’s siblings, Jr., Eloy, and Stella, are also her cherished family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carlos Candelaria, and her son, Armando Candelaria.

A small private ceremony will be held at a later date to honor Dorothy‘s memory and celebrate her life with her immediate family. While her absence will be deeply felt, we find solace in knowing that she has finally found peace and is reunited with her beloved husband, Carlos.
