Dorothy Schroeder, age 84, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this life for a heavenly one on 6 April after a sudden but thankfully brief medical emergency. Dorothy grew up on a family farm in North Dakota. She attended North Dakota State University where she was a rifle team member, the 1961 Homecoming Queen, and a 1962 Bachelor of Science Home Economics graduate. She was a teacher, home health care provider, and always a devoted and loving military wife and mother. She leaves behind a grieving husband Jerry, daughter Sue (Bozzini) and husband Tony of Saratoga, CA; sons Steve and wife Ellie of San Jose, CA, Greg and wife Stephanie of Austin, TX, and Richard of Woodbridge, VA; the Bozzini granddaughters Brittany (PhD), Niccola, and Daniella (Joyce) & husband Billy; grandson Steven Alexander (Xander) Schroeder; brothers Harold of Eden, WI, Wesley of West Bend WI, Jim (and wife Ilene) of Summerset SD; sisters Esther (Zielicke) of Eden WI and Lois (Larson) of Duluth MN; and numerous nephews and nieces and their families throughout the United States. Per her wishes, her remains will be cremated through Martin Funeral Home-West, and there will be no viewing, funeral, or memorial service. At some future date, family members will have a small remembrance gathering. Dorothy requested no flowers or tears (we violated that request) but suggested that those who wish may plant a tree in her memory (Oak or flowering would be a good choice). We thank the staff at Providence Sierra Campus of El Paso, Texas, for their kindness and care in making her as comfortable as humanly possible. Rest in peace in God's arms, beloved Dorothy/mom. We miss you greatly and will love you forever!
