

Edward N. Jabalie, M.D. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife Georgia Ann Jabalie, his daughter Cynthia Jabalie and husband Antonio Martinez, son David Jabalie and wife Sharon Jabalie, daughter Karen Jabalie Rastrelli and husband Dr. Paul Rastrelli, his ten grandchildren: Emery, Evin and Elise Martinez; Michaela, Camille, Paul Edward, and Steven Rastrelli; Elijah, Lily and Faith Jabalie. He is also survived by his nephew Dr. William Edward Jabalie and nieces Jana Jabalie Hanlon and Judy Jabalie, his sister in law, Helen Lee Jabalie, dear cousin Rosalie Daw and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Elias Jabalie and Adela Nabhan, and his brother William Jabalie.
Dr. Jabalie was a proud native of El Paso. He graduated from El Paso High School in 1948 and was a member of the football and track teams and the 1947 State Basketball Championship team. He attended Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy his freshman year and transferred his sophomore year to the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in Pharmacy in 1952 with high honors. He earned his medical degree with honors at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1957 and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Jabalie was board certified in Family Practice and practiced Family Medicine in El Paso for 47 years. He chaired numerous hospital committees and served as Chief of Staff at Vista Hills Medical Center (now Del Sol Medical Center) in 1990.
Dr. Jabalie was a kind compassionate man who loved his family, friends and patients. His generosity, guidance and love of life will be deeply missed.

A very special thanks with deep appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Providence Memorial Infusion Clinic, the medical technologists at the Providence Blood Bank, and the nurses and staff at Providence Wound Institute, Armando Guerrero and Jose Reyes of Altomar Home Health and Marybeth Medicke and Maria Anchondo of La Mariposa Hospice.
Funeral mass will be held, Saturday, September 2, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral.
