Emiliana Prado

Emiliana Prado, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Having been a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, she was born to Inez and Antonia Ordonez Baeza on February 21, 1927. She was the youngest of fourteen children and a twin sister to Marcos who passed away at only eight months of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and her eldest son, Hector Arturo Prado, who passed in November, 2011.

Emiliana was a devout Catholic and actively involved in the parishes of San Antonio Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Seminary and Roger Bacon College-Catholic Church. She also enjoyed nature and especially loved her plants and flowers. Her family, commitment to her church, and tending to her garden is what brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by Hector’s wife, Martha Prado, and two younger sons, Javier and wife Becky Prado, Rick and wife Sylvia Prado, all of El Paso, Texas. Known as Nani to her grandchildren, she had six: Liliana Prado-Bujanda and husband Raul of Washington, D.C., Leticia Prado of Houston, TX, Emily Brown and husband Patrick of Coronado, CA, Tahmi Burroughs and husband Caleb of Racine, WI, James Prado and wife Patricia of Moscow, ID, and Esteban Prado of El Paso, TX. Great-grandchildren include Kayla Castro, Kylar Sanchez, Andrew Bujanda, Evelyn Prado, James Prado, Graham Brown, Alexander Prado, Alfred Prado, Jude Burroughs, Isabelle Prado (due November 1, 2020), as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936; with a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
