

Frank L. Weidner was born in El Paso on May 27, 1928. He attended Crockett, Austin High and Texas College of Mines. He graduated from UT Austin. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau.
He married his lovely wife, Cissy, in 1950, and was drafted into the Korean conflict the same year. Upon discharge, he entered into the construction machinery business. During this period, his company, Contractors Equipment Company, received many national awards for performance. He was also on the New Mexico Mining Board of Directors for over 30 years where he was honored with a life-time membership. He served on the Board of El Paso Country Club, was a member of the Rotary Club and was a board member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also co-owner of the Hacienda Restaurant for ten years. In later years, he joined his friend, Tom Knapp, in a creative venture designing and casting items for Universities and Organizations, such as the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame award and several large bronze statues displayed around the country.
He is survived by his wife, Cissy, of 66 years and his four children, Leanne VonMittenwald, Kenneth Weidner, Robert Weidner, Sharon Allman and his two granddaughters, Tanya VonMittenwald and Madeline Allman.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church. 1340 Murchison El Paso, TX. 79902.
