Gisela Skworzow, the daughter of Joseph and Veronika Bernhard, was born on 14 September 1930. She departed her earthly home on Friday, March 10, 2023, after a brief illness. She was raised in Bechhofen-Pfalz, Germany and was the youngest of five female siblings (Margaret “Gretchen”, Gertrud, Veronika “Vroni”, and Anna “Annche”. She attended school in Bechhofen and began to work at an early age during the World War II era. She held many positions throughout her lifetime but the work she most identified with was the time she spent as a forest worker in her homeland.
She went on to get married on 7 October 1952 to Helmut Uhl and gave birth to her first daughter Margit Uhl on 21 November 1955. Unfortunately, on 22 July 1959 she became a widow but later that year on 5 December 1959 she gave birth to her second daughter Christine Uhl. She would go on to get remarried on 19 May 1973 to Thomas Skworzow and moved to Aschaffenburg. She became a widow again on 14 February 1987. She continued to live in Aschaffenburg until she decided to move to El Paso Texas , to be close to her daughters whom she loved very much, in January 2009.
In her spare time she loved reading and writing poems, shopping, German cuisine, country walks, bicycle rides and enjoying nature.
She leaves behind two daughters (Margit and Christine) one son-in law (Francisco), one grandchild (Rene) and nieces and nephews.
