Our dear mother, Guadalupe Aguilar, sadly passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 97. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. Lupita, as she was known by many, developed an interest in sewing at a very young age and became her career and source of income for her and her 6 children, which in time led to her many years of enjoyable employment as a very superb and artistic seamstress at Viviana Bridals on Gateway West Blvd. She was so delicate and patient with every detail of a bridal’s gown and quinceanera dresses she created. In the late 1970’s, Lupita decided to go to school to become a cosmetologist/hair stylist. Our family can remember the many nights she sat on her sofa chair with her cosmetology book in hand studying late nights and still getting up early to go to work every day. She established many good friendships among her co-workers and even with strangers whom she helped along the way however she could. Lupita had a very tender heart towards those in need, very compassionate. She always spoke God’s word to everyone, to love one another, and to forgive one another as the Lord commanded.
Lupita is survived by her daughter, Carmen Madera, her three sons, Ruben, Hector, and Oscar Madera, her sister Bertha Aguilar. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, her two sons Felipe Aguilar, Jesus Aguilar, and her granddaughter Christina Madera. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as many good friends and neighbors. Lupita was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, but is now peacefully resting in the care of her Almighty Creator.
