Hugh Urie Elquist

Hugh Urie Elquist, 87, of El Paso, passed away peacefully on Monday March 27, 2017. Hugh was a devoted father and grandfather and was proceeded in death by his Father, Mother and 3 Brothers. Survivors: 5 Children Susan Ticken (Ed), Suzan Lake (Ray), Gordon Elquist (Jo Ann), Karen Elquist, Karol Miller (Kenneth). With 13 Grandchildren,26 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild one the way!

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mesa & Resler Wards. A member of Independent order of Foresters, Wood Workers of El Paso, Scoutmaster for troop 197 Camp Dale Resler, Norwegian Society of Texas, Staff Sgt. in USAF, Korean War Veteran, Burbank Auxiliary Police in California. State of California Apprenticeship, devout Viking.

Well respected business owner in El Paso for over 20 years as The Furniture Doctor.

Loved wood working, remodeling and carpenter work. Building wood horses and toys for children. Will be missed by many.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5:00- 9:00 pm. at Martin Funeral Home West 128 N. Resler. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 8:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 7315 Bishop Flores Dr, with a committal to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
