Born in 1952 in Rantoul, IL, James’ life took him many places; to Japan with his family in his youth; to Vietnam and southeast Asia as a combat veteran in the United States Army Security Agency; to every corner of the continental United States; and to them home he loved, El Paso, Texas.
James was a true original. A born searcher, wanderer, comedian, and “motorcycle enthusiast.” He loved the open road, the American West, and riding motorcycles, his hair blowing recklessly in the wind.
He spent his professional life in construction and plumbing, helping to improve the homes and facilities of many people around the El Paso area.
He will be remembered for his light-hearted approach to life, his library of jokes, his boisterous laugh, and larger-than-life presence.
James loved his family and friends with passion, loyalty and devotion. He is survived by his children, Eric, Amanda, Heather and James; his grandchildren Matthew, Fiona, Kinley, Layla, Jessica, and Weldon; and his brother and Sister, John and Regina.
James will be forever interned at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors on June 21, 2024 at 9:30am.
A celebration of his life and the people that loved him will be held at Martin’s Funeral Home (east) on June 21, 2024 at 10:30am.
