Charles where he coached 9th grade football and track.
He pursued his administrative career at Lincoln, Charles, and Andress High as assistant principal and then returned to H.E. Charles as principal, where he retired in 2006.
He was lovingly known as “Coach” to his students inside and outside of school, was recognized for reaching students who were “unteachable”, and treated everyone fairly and with the utmost respect. Jan was an avid supporter and season ticket holder for UTEP Basketball, Football, and enjoyed regularly attending the UTEP Dinner Theater performances. Jan was a gentleman and a gentle man.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to support the UTEP Dinner Theater.
Graveside services will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 10th, at 11 am.
