Our beloved father Javier Francisco Alfonso (Vivis) Adauto passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024 at the age of 89. Javier was born on July 14, 1935 to Ricardo and Evangelina Adauto in El Paso, Texas.
After graduating from Cathedral High School in 1952, he earned a BBA degree from Texas Western College in 1957 where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity and the ROTC program.
Javier landed in Ft. Benning, Georgia after college for training in Infantry Tactics and completion in the Airbourne course. Javier spent two years in active duty and three years in the US Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Captain, Executive Officer of the 9th Special Forces B Team Airbourne.
Javier retired in 2001 after 28 years as a State Farm Agent. He was a member of the Northeast Optimist Club, the El Paso Elks Lodge 187 and the Cathedral High School Alumni Organization. He was an avid reader and a loyal UTEP Miner fan. Javier was a devout Catholic at Blessed Sacrament Church and San Xavier Catholic Church. He loved his family and was a kind and generous person. He cherished all his friendships.
Javier was predeceased by his parents Ricardo and Evangelina, his brothers Richie and Armando Adauto, and sister Ana Maria Adauto Ortega.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosie Herrera, his children: Ben Adauto of El Paso, Texas, Carla Early (Robert) of New Braunfels, Texas and Alina Boos (James) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, his grandchildren: Ava Early, Sadie Boos, and Ryan Boos, his siblings: Gilbert C. Adauto, Armida McDonald and Alicia Romero
Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, September 20, 2024. The rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Committal service will be held at Restlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
