

Jimmy Porter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, he was born in El Paso, TX on March 19, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Neal Porter and Minnie Mae Belle Hill. Jimmy was a graduate of Austin High School and The University of Texas of El Paso. Jimmy taught “English as a Second Language” in California for many years. He was very well liked at his teaching job and had many letters from his prior students as testament to their appreciation for his dedicated work. He was also very interested in Egyptian studies and had quite a number of Egyptian books and artwork. Jimmy had a keen interest in genealogy and did extensive research on his family tree and of course passed that on to his family members in the form of a three ring binder specifically tailored for each member.
Jimmy is survived by his brothers, Robert H. Porter, Albert L. Porter (Karen), along with his niece Amy Sue Porter.
