Mrs. JoAnn Henderson Berry, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away November 26th, 2022 at her residence. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to El Paso in 1965. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and held membership in many fraternal and professional organizations, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., NAACP, Black Political Caucus, and she was a member of all professional educational organizations, Mrs. Berry began her teaching career as an employee of the El Paso Independent School District in 1965. Survivors include Yvette Berry and Bridget Berry and grandsons Dominic Atkins-Berry and Cameron Berry, her special friend Jefferson Jenkins of El Paso Texas
A wake for JoAnn will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with an Omega Omega Service to take place at 6:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A wake will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3201 Frutas Ave, El Paso, TX 79905 followed by a celebration at 10:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3201 Frutas Ave, El Paso, TX 79905. A committal service will promptly follow at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938.
