Jose "Rey" Villa, age 73, of Sunland Park, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Rey was born in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico, and was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rey was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Alicia R. Villa, his mother, Aurora Morales and his brother, Fidencio Villa Jr. His legacy of love and kindness will live on through his children: Joe Rey Roman, Veronica Villa Calvillo, and Cynthia Roman. He is also survived by his siblings: Aurora R. Roman, Zeferino Villa, and Manuel Villa. Rey’s grandchildren, Darcey Villa, Krystal Roman, Eric Rey Roman, Joe Rey Roman Jr., Ruby Alicia Roman, and great-grandchildren Eric Rey Roman Jr. and Tamar Hannah Roman will carry forward the love and warmth he always shared.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Rey Roman, Joe Rey Roman Jr., Eric Rey Roman, Javier Roman, Rudy Villa, Samuel Calvillo, and Danny Villa.
A public service to honor Rey’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, Texas 79932. A rosary will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2790 Alabama St., El Paso, TX 79930. An interment will occur Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr, El Paso, TX 79904.
