My favorite memories growing up are going over every weekend . My uncle was teaching me how to drive standard. It was a tiny red car. After stopping at the gas station. He would say…. “ Alright Lil fella, here’s the keys, Now get in captains chair.” And for every car that passed me he would say…. “now hurry up and catch that old lady that just passed you!” He always said something to make me laugh.. I will always remember my “Uncle John” He always knew everyone, everywhere we went. 
This guy truly was “A Good Neighbor!”  
When I told him I was going to be a Real Estate Agent, he said….” I can tell you’re gonna do great lil fella! “ 
Rest in Heaven “Uncle John”, Thank you for wonderful and memorable memories. For being that example for me, and for being that person I could easily looked up to. 

John Rivera was born in El Paso, Texas to Mr and Mrs Ernesto Rivera. John was a graduate of Cathedral High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He earned a degree in Business Administration from Texas Western College.

John was a State Farm Agent for twenty-five years and retired in December of 2002.

John was married to his wife Becky and they celebrated their fifty-sixth year anniversary in February.

John and Becky had two sons, John Michael (Ofelia) and Marc (Michelle) and one grandson Michael.

John is preceded in death by his parents Ernesto and Isabel J. Rivera, his brother Ernesto and sister Olga. John is survived by sisters Terry, Aurora, Del and Connie, brothers Fernie, Tony and Nacho as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was an amazing, giving, and loving man. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who  knew him.

So sorry to hear about your loss.  We live in Los Cerritos and knew John seeing him and his dog often.  Our sincere condolences.

My favorite memories of my uncle  was he always made us smile and was a joy to see.  I will always remember his kind heart his funny manner.  Rest in peace uncle
