Juan Antonio Varela; also known as Tony, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 20, 2025, in his hometown of El Paso, Texas. He was 72 years old.
Born and raised in El Paso, Juan was a self-made businessman and dedicated manager who worked tirelessly to build a successful life for himself and his family. He was passionate about golf and found great joy in the game, both for the competition and the camaraderie.
Juan will be remembered for his big heart, sharp wit, and generous spirit. He was a man who always put others before himself, offering support and laughter in equal measure. Whether he was telling a joke or lending a hand, he made those around him feel cared for and valued. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and humor lives on in all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Varela and Antonio (A.B.) Varela; his sisters, Magdalena Enriquez and Sofia Dovalina; his five nephews; Frank and Daniel Dovalina and Jose Luis Jr., Adrian and Christian Enriquez as well as his faithful dog, Peanut, who never left his side.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 25 2025, at Crestview Funeral Home (Funeraria del Angel Crestview), 1462 N Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. Services will begin at 5:00 PM and end at 9:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM.
Juan’s presence in our lives was a gift. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
