On the morning of September 29, 2022, our father Juan ZAVALA passed away peacefully at the age 80, with his wife and daughters by his side. He is preceded in death by his daughter Joann Marquez, mother Socorro, brothers Jesus and Armando and sister Concepcion. He was a bookbinder by trade, having worked at the El Paso Book Bindery for many years and at the El Paso State Center before retiring.Survived by his wife Irma, daughters: Yvette (Gilbert), Lori (Diego), Rae Lynn (Chris). He is also survived by 8 grandsons: Gilbert Jr.(Jenae), Juliano (Anna), Victor Jr. (Jessica), Isac (Blanca), Nicholas (Karen), Chris (Ashley), Hector Jr. and his consentido/pal Terence as well as 4 great grandchildren; Aubrey, Audrina, Sebastian, and Xander and great grandson due in December. He also leaves behind brothers Guillermo (Betty), and Tony (Christy) and his sisters, Teresa, Dolores (Ismael) and Rosie (Dennis) and his many baseball friends and companions at the Chicken Coop. He was an avid Washington Redskin fan. Dad, you will be missed, Go in Peace.
A visitation for Juan will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A vigil will occur Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 6:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Monday, October 10, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave, El Paso, Texas 79907. A graveside will occur Monday, October 10, 2022 at 11:00 PM.
