Mrs. Kathy Jane McAllister Blount

Kathy J. McAllister Blount. Kathy went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2010 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born November 21, 1951 at Fort Lee, Virginia. Kathy lived the majority of her life in the El Paso area and graduated from Parkland High School in 1970. She was a proud United States Army Veteran, wife, mother, friend and animal lover. She was preceded in death by her father Leslie D. McAllister. She is survived by her husband, Christopher O. Blount of Vinton, TX; daughter, Rachel D. (Hardin) Mathis and her husband Leslie G. Mathis of Wilburton, OK; son, Jeremy W. Hardin of Vinton, TX; mother, Katherine J. (Mosley) McAllister of El Paso, TX; sister, Cindy L. (McAllister) Dowdy and husband Billy J. Dowdy of Manhattan, KS; brother, Michael D. McAllister of Dallas, TX; nephew, Christopher M. Dowdy of Manhattan, KS. Services will be held at Chapel of the North Hills at 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local animal rescue or shelter. Special thanks to the men and women at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center who took exceptional care of Kathy during her battle.
