Death is just a natural thing Like the closing of a door as we start upon a journey To a new and distant shore. So let your grief be softened and yield not to despair for you have only placed your loved one In our loving Father’s care.
Lillian Katherine Hensley, Known as “Peanut” by her family, was the youngest of three daughters raised by Thomas R. and Martha M. Freeman of Tucson, Arizona, (both deceased). Kathy, as she was affectionately called in later years, was blessed through marriage to and is survived by her husband of 41 years, Billie Hensley. Kathy is also survived by sisters Sharon Freeman-Dobson (Mitchell), nephew Christopher Dobson of Oro Valley, Arizona; Diana Edwards (John) of Tucson, Arizona, niece Allison Edwards of Melbourne, Australia; and numerous relatives in Tustin, California.
Kathy served honorably in the U.S. Army retiring with twenty years of service. She went on to continue government service with Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) for an accumulated total of thirty-four years of civilian government service. Kathy enjoyed her years working for DFAS. She loved helping our service members with their pay. Of course, we will sorely miss her.
Kathy enjoyed spending time watching the Perry Mason television series and any other Raymond Burr shows, drinking tea, and eating chocolate chip cookies and playing Scrabble with her friends. But most of all Kathy enjoyed spending times with her cats, Isabella and Midnight. She was passionate about the care of all animals. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to the Humane Society of El Paso, Texas.
To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me
When I have gone, release me. Let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you so much love, you can only guess how much love you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown, but now it is time I traveled alone.
So, grieve awhile for me if you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part so bless the memories within your heart.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St., El Paso, TX 79904.
