Manuela Hernandez Solis

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Manuela Hernandez Solis, who departed this life peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Chihuahua, Mexico on December 2, 1928, Manuela lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a woman of grace and quiet resilience, whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who had the blessing to know her.

Manuela was predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonio Solis, and her cherished son, Alfredo Villescas. Though their absence was deeply felt, she carried their memory with her every day, and now joins them in eternal peace.

She is survived by her brother Genaro Chaparro and spouse Silvia Villanueva of Juárez, Mexico, and her children Manuela Lopez of Chicago, IL, Isabel Hernandez of Chicago, IL, Juana Villescas of Chicago, IL, Steven Rodriguez and spouse Sylvia of El Paso, TX, Minerva Rodriguez and companion Raymond Bongiorno of Davis, IL, and Edwin Rodriguez and spouse Laura of McKinney, TX and loving caregiver Celmira.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance in her children, 25 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren all of whom will continue to be inspired by her example. Her home was a haven of comfort, her food a source of joy, her paintings source of love and her words a source of wisdom.

Manuela’s life will be honored in a visitation held on July 17th beginning at 4pm with rosary service at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn Funeral Home 8817 Dyer St. El Paso, TX 79904.

Funeral mass will be held at 11am on July 18th, at the lady Our Guadalupe Catholic Church 2709 Alabama St. El Paso, TX 79930. Graveside Service will follow at 12:30pm at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery 4848 Alps Dr. El Paso, TX 79904.

Con profundo dolor y mucho amor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Manuela Hernandez Solis, quien partió de esta vida en paz el 24 de junio de 2025, a la edad de 96 años, rodeada del amor de su familia.

Nacida en Chihuahua, México, el 2 de diciembre de 1928, Manuela vivió una vida marcada por la fortaleza, la compasión y una entrega inquebrantable a su familia. Fue una mujer de gracia y de una resiliencia silenciosa, cuya calidez y amabilidad tocaron los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.

Manuela fue precedida en la muerte por su amado esposo, Antonio Solis, y su querido hijo, Alfredo Villescas. Aunque su ausencia fue profundamente sentida, ella llevó su recuerdo consigo cada día, y ahora se reúne con ellos en la paz eterna.

Le sobreviven su hermano Genaro Chaparro y su esposa Silvia Villanueva de Ciudad Juárez, México, así como sus hijos:

Deja un legado de amor y perseverancia en sus hijos, 25 nietos, 41 bisnietos y 3 tataranietos, quienes continuarán siendo inspirados por su ejemplo. Su hogar fue un refugio de consuelo, su comida una fuente de alegría, sus pinturas una expresión de amor, y sus palabras, una fuente de sabiduría.

La vida de Manuela será honrada con una velación que se llevará a cabo el 17 de julio a partir de las 4:00 p.m., con el rosario a las 7:00 p.m. en Restlawn Funeral Home.

La misa fúnebre se celebrará el 18 de julio a las 11:00 a.m. en la iglesia Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, seguida por el sepelio a las 12:30 p.m. en el cementerio Restlawn Memorial Park.
